May Day

Our students are busy preparing their dances for our annual May Day celebration on Friday, May 22*! The performances will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Rike Field on Highland Street. Dismissal is at 12:30 p.m. (see details for dismissal process and optional picnic lunch on May 22). This annual assembly is an outdoor celebration of spring, with each grade performing a dance. It is a very special tradition and we look forward to sharing it with the entire community!
* NEW THIS YEAR: In case of inclement weather, we will host May Day on Tuesday, May 26, from 1:15–2:45 p.m.; dismissal would be at the normal time. We will notify you as far in advance as possible. See more details below.
MAY 22 — NO AFTERNOON BUSES, NO ASP, NO SPORTS, NO MUSIC LESSONS
As a reminder, there will be no afternoon buses and no After School Program on May 22. If we reschedule May Day to May 26 due to inclement weather, the usual bus transportation and after-school options will be available.
May Day Dress Guidelines
Students should wear "assembly" dress:
- Dress pants
- Dress Bermuda shorts
- Button-down shirts
- Golf shirts
- Dresses
- Blouses
- Skirts
- Clean sneakers
- No jeans, sweat pants, warm-up pants, T-shirts, sweatshirts or flip flops or slip-on shoes
No Pets at the Event
For the safety of all in attendance, please do not bring pets to the May Day celebration.

After the May Day festivities* all families are invited to stay for a picnic lunch. You may bring your own lunch, or purchase something from one of the food trucks on campus. Please read the important dismissal information below. NOTE: there is no ASP available on May 22.

This will be an outdoor event — please keep in mind that students should be prepared accordingly.

Please note:
- May 22 will remain a 12:30 p.m. dismissal time, even if there is no May Day celebration.
- There are no afternoon buses or after-school programs on May 22.
- May 26 will be a normal dismissal time, with no picnic following the event.
- If you are picking your child up on the field, please follow the dismissal instructions outlined above.
- Afternoon buses and after-school programs are available on May 26.
