Parent Resources

Foote's PTC is always happy to include parents and guardians as volunteers and attendees in various events throughout the year. We encourage all of our parents and guardians to get involved! 

We also support our parents and guardians who wish to form social groups based on common goals and interests. Affinity group meetings are organized and managed by the parents and guardians, and often take place via Zoom or off-campus locations.

If your child needs to miss school for any reason, please email both attendance@footeschool.org and your child’s homeroom/classroom teacher to let them know the date(s) your child will be absent, and the reason for the absence. (Please note: in the case of a medical/illness-related absence the Health Office will contact you regarding protocol for return to school.) 

Note: Any students who arrive at school after 8:15 a.m. must first report to the Main Office before going to their classroom/homeroom.

To make our dismissal process as safe as possible, The Foote School uses Pikmykid. Keeping your children safe is our first priority. Pikmykid provides us with an added resource to confirm and record the safe dismissal of each student, every day. 

Before the start of school, you will be emailed your child(ren)’s car tag(s), which you will need to print and display in your vehicle beginning the first day of school if you are picking up your child from your vehicle. Please email mmccabe@footeschool.org  if you do not receive your car tag via email before the first day of school.

How to set it up:

• Through the app, you will select the anticipated dismissal process for each of your children. 

• The school will upload your child’s default pickup mode, specifically the Canner, Loomis, or Highland car line, and bus information.

• Additionally, you may make calendar changes  to “after school,” which includes theater, sports, music lessons, After School Program (ASP), etc. Choose the day — or days — that you know your child’s dismissal plans will change. Please refer to the FAQs section for more information.

If you plan to be on campus during the school day — visiting a classroom, picking up a child from the Health Office, attending a meeting, or any other purpose outside of drop-off and pick-up times — please remember to check in at the front desk and get a yellow visitor’s lanyard/I.D. card. This helps our students and staff easily recognize employees and guests on campus. Please note: you will need a driver's license or other form of I.D. when checking in.

Foote partners with Schoolhouse Fare for school lunch delivery service. Lunch is provided by local vendors, including Jordan's, Panera, Costa Pizza, P&M, and Olmo. The order deadline for full lunch menu is five days prior to the lunch delivery date.  In addition, a 24-hour menu is open until noon the day before the selected lunch date.

Please keep the school updated when your family's contact information changes. We rely on the most up-to-date email address and mailing address to keep you informed of important information.

There are four major Music Assemblies each year, honoring the culmination of the students' work throughout the year. The attendance of each performer is also critical to the integrity of the event, and we request that families plan vacation days accordingly. For each Music Assembly, families of the performers are invited to attend; a reminder to invited families will be shared closer to each event, along with further details.

The Parent/Guardian directory in the portal is the best way to find contact information for other Foote families. In addition to searching by name, you may search by a variety of criteria, including grade and hometown. 

The faculty and staff directory is in the portal, and located on our website, or you may call the front desk at 203-777-3464 and ask to be transferred to the appropriate person. If you know their extension, you may dial it directly from the menu.

The Business Office updates student invoices in Veracross on a monthly basis for auxiliary charges including tuition refund insurance, after school programs, sports, music lessons, mini-courses, bus fees, and lost library books. We ask families to check invoices each month for new charges and make payments within 30 days. Please note that these are not part of auto-payments made for tuition.
