A grandfather and veteran educator reflects on Foote's Grandparents Day.
Foote celebrates many special events throughout the school year, some dating back to the school’s founding. Children gather by class, grade or division (Lower School or Middle School) to celebrate achievements, share projects and make announcements. All-school assemblies celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Earth Day, visitors from our sister school in China, and often feature speakers, presentations and musical performances. Drama productions are performed in the school’s black box theater.
Grandparents Day is a cherished Foote tradition. Grandparents and special friends spend a morning at school, visiting grandchildren’s classrooms, participating in faculty-led minicourses and enjoying an all-school assembly.
