Community Building Committee

The Community Building Committee is a link between The Foote School and its families. The committee is composed of two trustees, faculty/staff representatives, Parent Teacher Council chairs, leaders of parent affinity groups and volunteers from the Foote community. Two Foote School Association members, who are also elected trustees, act as Chair and Vice Chair of this committee. The goals of the Community Building Committee are to engage families to promote community connections through school events in conjunction with the Parent Teacher Council (PTC).

Parent Teacher Council (PTC)

Throughout the year the Foote Parent Teacher Council (PTC) hosts social events and fundraisers for students and parents/guardians, and even supports school services like school photo day and hearing/vision testing. We rely on our families to support and strengthen the school — not just by to showing up, but showing out! We encourage our parents and guardians to volunteer their time and share their talents!

We encourage our parents and guardians to form social groups based on common goals and interests. Group meetings are listed on the school calendar and in the weekly newsletter. They often take place via Zoom or off-campus locations. Existing parent/guardian affinity groups include: Asian Affinity Group, Black/African American Affinity Group, Jewish Affinity Group, and Queer-Straight Alliance Affinity Group.

Parents and guardians may create new groups by working with the schools Community Building Committee. 

Each spring we invite our students' grandparents and special friends to join us on campus to learn more about our community — and enjoy a delicious breakfast!
