![]() All School News Suspended Moods Revisited At the start of this school year, the entire Foote community took part in a public art project called "Suspended Moods." Designed by artist and Foote parent Megan Craig, the installation captured the collective mood of the school as the year began by having each child and adult paint a bamboo stick with a color corresponding to their mood at the time.
As a bookend to this year, we want to take another snapshot of our community's mood during this unusual time.
Here's how it will work:
BRAVE: PINK Capable Empowered Ready Strong
QUIET: DARK BLUE Thoughtful Shy Dreamy Relaxed
EXCITED: RED Energized Amped Enthusiastic Intense
NERVOUS: PURPLE Worried Restless Unsure Cautious
PLAYFUL: ORANGE Joyful Silly Friendly Curious
GRATEFUL: AQUA Serene Hopeful Blessed Calm

Thank you for helping us to document this unusual chapter in Foote School's history! ![]() Video All Together Now! The last two months have been a long and winding road, but the Foote community has gotten by with a little help from our friends. Last month, we set out to do something completely new: to make music together while physically distanced around Greater New Haven. Students, teachers and staff were invited to play and sing along to the Beatles song "With a Little Help from My Friends." Videos poured into our inbox—students and teachers joyfully singing and playing violin, piano, guitar, drums, Oorf instrument, steel pans, banjo and more. In all, 30 people contributed videos. Click below to watch the finished product. Thanks to everyone for helping us to remain connected through music! ![]() Video 50 States Project As part of their study of the United States, fourth graders recently completed three-dimensional maps of U.S. cities and states. The maintenance staff kindly made the 70 boxes the maps were constructed in, and gave each student one prior to spring break. Completing the project during distance learning meant students had to be a lot more flexible with their plans, materials and thinking. Click the link below to see the completed boxes and to learn more about the project. Upcoming Events
