Dear Grade 8 Families,
I hope this finds you safe and healthy at home. I am writing to share information about our plans for 8th Grade Celebration, which we hope will be a joyful tribute to these bright young adults.
After much consideration, we have decided to hold 8th Grade Celebration virtually on Monday, June 8. The safety of our community remains our highest priority, and gathering virtually is the best way to celebrate our eighth graders and their families without putting anyone at undue risk. While we will miss the musical performances and other elements of this Foote School tradition, we have some fun surprises in store that will be a fitting celebration of these wonderful students.
To that end, we are putting together a presentation for the Celebration and we are asking families to fill out this form (also linked below) with the following information by Wednesday, May 20:
- The student's name
- 3 photos of the student during his/her time at Foote (Foote experiences, but not necessarily taken at school).
- The student's answers to four short prompts
For those families staying at Foote for ninth grade, we have scheduled a parent meeting for Thursday, May 21 at 5:30 p.m. to talk about important aspects of the ninth grade year. Joining me for this meeting will be Beth Mello, Liam Considine, and ninth grade advisors Megan Williams and Deb Riding. (This meeting is for parents only.) Here is the Zoom meeting link.
We will provide more information, as we get closer to the date of 8th Grade Celebration. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best,
Carol Maoz
Head of School
