![]() All School News How You Can Give & Get Support If you are looking for ways to support Foote community members in need during this challenging time—or if you are in need of support yourself—we invite you to connect with our new support service, The Lift at Foote School.
The Lift at Foote School is confidentially linking families in need of a support service with a family who is in a position to help. Some examples might include picking up groceries and delivering them outside the home, cooking a meal, running an errand, sewing masks, or any number of other ways we can lift each other up.
If you would like to request support, or volunteer to provide it, please email thelift@footeschool.org. Thank you! Parent Reminder No School Tomorrow There will be no school / distance learning tomorrow, Friday, April 24, so the faculty and staff can hold a professional development day.
All School News Share Your Distance Learning Pics Parents are invited to share photos, videos, anecdotes, screenshots, examples of their children's work, etc. that will be shared in the weekly e-newsletter, our website and social media.
Thank you for helping us to document this unusual chapter in Foote School's history! All School News Distance Learning Resource Pages If you are looking for information related to Distance Learning on our website, you can find it on the following pages:

The tireless dedication and herculean efforts of our Foote teachers make this event all the more special and important this spring. The PTC is working to organize the delivery of breakfast food mixes, treats and flowers to all faculty & staff (and gift cards to those teachers who are not local). Please email ptc@footeschool.org to learn more.
![]() Curriculum Close-Up Channeling Andy Goldsworthy Second graders have been busy learning about environmental artist Andy Goldsworthy and creating their own masterpieces using natural materials. "Andy Goldsworthy doesn't worry about how many people will see his creations," says Grade 2 teacher Margy Lamere. "He creates at sites where he feels inspired. He is in it purely for creative joy and sense of satisfaction." Like the artist himself, Margy says second graders showed "great creativity in their use of natural materials and a wide range of artistic forms."
"His style went well with our themes of reusing materials, like our trash art for Columbus House and our recycled superhero capes made from old tablecloths," says Margy, "and it was a way to get all second graders outside and active!" Click below for a short video highlighting the project. ![]() Video Distance Learning Bloopers Distance learning isn't without its snafus. While Foote teachers may appear super-human in their ability to connect with children, juggle demands and deliver an engaging curriculum online, they too are only mortals.
Whether it's temperamental technology or a feisty feline, distance learning lessons don't always go exactly as planned, as evidenced by these teacher-submitted bloopers! It's just another way that our wonderful teachers help children learn that it's okay to make mistakes. Upcoming Events
