Dear Families,
To stay connected and have fun while we are socially distancing, we want to make a music video—and all students are invited to participate!
Do you play an instrument or love to sing? Can you shake a maraca, tambourine or other simple instrument? If you answered yes, then you can join in!
Here's how it will work:
- Students are invited to record themselves singing and/or playing an instrument to the Beatles song "With a Little Help from My Friends."
- We will edit all the videos together into a montage similar to the Songs Around the World series.
When you are ready to record:
- Set up your camera or laptop on a stable surface. If using a phone or tablet, record in landscape (horizontal) orientation.
- Make a short test recording to ensure you are singing/playing at an appropriate volume (not too quiet or loud).
- Put on your headphones and record yourself singing/playing along to this version of the song. (This linked version should not be audible in the recording.)
- If you are singing, use these lyrics.
- Perform the entire song, start to finish.
- The song is in the Key of C. If you wish, you can purchase and download sheet music on this website.
- Send your finished video to Andy Bromage, Director of Communications, at abromage@footeschool.org. You can also send it via DropBox to abromage@footeschool.org.
Thanks to Foote parent Jonathan Lowe for the idea for this project. And thank you in advance for helping to keep our community connected through song!
