From Yali With Love

Foote's sister school in China, Yali, has sent a donation of 1,500 protective masks for the New Haven community. Yali's Principal Liu sends his best wishes to Foote faculty, students and families, and hopes everyone stays healthy.

The donation was coordinated by the 16 Yali guest teachers who have taught at Foote as part of our cultural exchange program, including Zhao Yu (Vincent, pictured).

Along with news of the shipment, the English Department faculty at Yali sent this note to Foote: "After two months of online teaching we are back at Yali, enjoying a fond reunion with our students. We want the Foote faculty to know that online teaching was very difficult and time-consuming for us. It is really a tiring job! But we did it and you can also! We hope all the hardship will be gone soon. Everything will be good if you take it seriously. Be safe!"

Once the masks arrive, Foote plans to donate them to the Emergency Department at Yale-New Haven Hospital through the Yale China Program.

Former Foote guest teacher Huang Qiong (Hannah, pictured below) reports that the Yali community is healthy and that the seniors and their teachers are so happy to be back.
