After a six month absence, Foote students began returning to Loomis Place this week, and to a new way of learning that they will surely tell their grandkids about.
Kindergarten, sixth and ninth graders served as our trailblazers, arriving first and setting the example for learning in masks and at physical distance from one another. Grades 3, 5 and 7 followed on Thursday, with Grades 1, 2, 4 & 8 set to return next Wednesday.
As friends and teachers reconnected or met one another for the first time, Foote's campus quickly came to feel like vibrant community again. Students engaged in team-building activities under tents, connected to Chinese, Spanish and music classes via Zoom, began to craft their first works of art, ate lunch together in the shade, climbed the Luckey climbers and ran on the athletic fields.
