Feed your mind with things that fascinate you and you’ll be amazed at where life can take you. Anna York Mulkey ’39
Our graduates blaze new trails.
We meet students where they are—and lead them to reach their full potential. Our graduates love to learn, embrace the opportunity to make mistakes, and have the skills and the vision to create their own path forward. They’re always reaching for something more—and proud to be exactly who they are.
The Foote School's alumni represent one of the most connected, engaged and committed groups of any independent school in the country. Our alumni play an important role in the life of our school. Each year, alumni reconnect at regional gatherings, contribute class notes, share their experiences with current students, volunteer on behalf of the Alumni Council and the school, contribute to The Foote Fund, and attend Reunion.

Art is the connective tissue that binds all other facets of life. It is an educator, a healer, a diplomat, and an activist. It is at once deeply personal and universal. It is both an escape and a grounding force. Jasmine (Tompkins) Nikole ’06 knows this to be true.

After 41 years at Foote, Laura retired in 2013 with the title of Admissions Director. Her title was wildly insufficient, hiding years of teaching kindergarten, directing the summer program, and creating community collaborations.
Whenever you’ve been asked, “What did you do this summer?” it’s unlikely that your response comes close to what Dylan Farrell ’11 would say about his summer of 2023.
An engineer, an educator, and entrepreneur — among many other roles — Jasmine determinedly keeps her creative side active. During the pandemic she took the leap to become a full-time artist. It’s meant hard work, and requires her to make tough choices, but the rewards far outweigh any reservations she might have had.
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Frank M. Perrine, our beloved and longest-serving Head of School, on July 18, 2023, at his home in Larkspur, CA.
Last spring we asked students and colleagues of Frank Perrine, former Head of School (1967–1992), to send him a note in honor of his 90th year.
