Meet John Turner

John Turner leads a team of passionate educators dedicated to helping students learn and discover through the middle school years. He became Head of Middle School in 2010 after 16 years as a middle and upper school teacher at Severn School near Annapolis, Md., serving for the last six of those years as the school’s Academic Dean. At Foote, John has taught eighth grade English and U.S. History and also the ninth-grade Comparative Cultures course. John holds a B.A. in English from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Seton Hall University. His son Holden ‘14 and daughter Graley ‘17 are proud Foote alums, and his son Egan is currently in seventh grade.
