The Middle School advisory program assigns each student to a faculty advisor whose responsibility is to know, understand and advocate for the student. Each day begins with a 20-minute advisory period during which advisors and students can check in, share news and discuss topics relevant to their lives. Advisors, who also see advisees during lunch and at 2:15 each day, are the main point of contact for parents. The program helps students balance academics, homework and extracurricular activities, preparing to meet the demands of high school with self-confidence and purpose.
Three-dimensional works are the focus of eighth-grade art. For one project, students embellish a shoe to make a creative, sometimes otherworldly, sculpture.
