This December, the annual 9th-grade play will be Eurydice, by Sarah Ruhl. The play approaches the classic Orpheus and Eurydice tale through the perspective of Eurydice as she travels through the underworld after dying on her wedding day. In the underworld, she reunites with her father and grapples with the fading memory of her love, Orpheus. "With contemporary characters, plot twists, and a script written to be a playground for designers, the play is a fresh look at a timeless love story," according to Ruhl's website.
As is tradition, the entire grade comprises the cast and crew of the play. Performances will be December 8, 9, and 10 at 7:00 p.m. and December 11 at 2:00 p.m.
