Tickets are now available for the Foote Summer Theater production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The musical comedy (book by Rachel Sheinkin, music and lyrics by William Finn) follows a group of ambitious sixth graders, each with their own motives to win the spelling bee.

Theater Director Katie De Vries explained, "Comedy, hope, and compassion become the winning themes when you least expect them."

She also noted that there will be audience participation and spontaneous spelling of words that may, or may not, be real. This production is performed and produced by students in grades 7–11 of the Foote Summer Theater program, and is recommended for children ages 8 and over.

Performances are:

  • Friday, July 28, 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 29, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 30, 2 p.m.

According to Playbill, "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a joyful night of comedy and quirk that celebrates the pursuit of victory and the gift of being true to oneself." What could be more Foote?
