At Foote for Safe-Keeping
Foote Security

Current families likely recognize Terrell Grimes as the greeter on the street — standing in the middle of Loomis every morning and afternoon, directing traffic and keeping the community safe during some of the more hectic times of the school day. Few people at Foote can claim to have a more intimate knowledge of the school than Terrell. Now in his 19th year at Foote, he has stepped into the role of Director of Security.

This new position is actually back where he started, in a way — in the early 2000s, he was hired as a security guard for the school, working for an outside contractor. His presence had such a significant impact on the Foote community that he was asked to become a full-time member of the Maintenance Department.

Now almost two decades later, Terrell is still taking care of us. While there have been many changes in his time at Foote, Terrell said that there is one important aspect that stays the same.

“The students and teachers here are always nice, and always respectful,” he said. “I love working with kids, and keeping people safe.”
