Meet Alexandra Zagmout, Director of Admissions

Alexandra is currently serving as the Associate Director of Admissions at GEMS World Academy in Chicago, IL. As a parent at GEMS, Alexandra was drawn to admissions work. In her work as Associate Director, Alexandra focused on enrollment management, admissions, retention, and financial assistance. At GEMS, Alexandra has demonstrated a talent for not only attending thoughtfully to the business elements of admissions work but the relational, human side as well. She approaches her work with a sense of genuine curiosity and care. Before joining the GEMS community, Alexandra advocated for the rights of women and children and worked on anti-trafficking and youth service programs in Southeastern Europe.
 
Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from American University, a Master of Arts from American Military University, and a Master of Education in Enrollment Management and Policy from the University of Southern California. 
 
The Admissions team at Foote works collaboratively to recruit, enroll, and retain mission-aligned families whose perspectives reflect the diversity that is essential to inspiring academic excellence while fostering an authentic sense of belonging. The Admissions Director must be an enthusiastic spokesperson for the school and is responsible for attracting and thoughtfully stewarding prospective families through a responsive and equitable admissions process. During the search process, Alexandra demonstrated her ability to move seamlessly between big-picture and tactical thinking and her commitment to focusing on what is core. 
 
When asked about joining the Foote community, Alexandra shared, “My family and I are very excited to become part of the Foote Family. During my visit to Foote, I had an opportunity to meet Foote's students, faculty members and parent representatives,  as well as observe instruction. One thing that immediately stood out to me was how happy Foote students are and how much they enjoy being at school.”
 
Alexandra will relocate to Connecticut with her husband Andre and her daughter, Maryam, in August.
