The Class of 2018 has experienced a lot of firsts on their China trip. They are now the first group to have a full day with their host families, the first group to have lunch with Buddhist monks, the first to visit Guilin/Yangshuo. And after tonight, the first to go full circle in an unbroken chain at the closing ceremony.
We had a great last day in China. We rode almost 14 miles through the countryside, stopping for lunch at a farm hostel, where we threw corn to the chickens, watched a local man plow a field with a cow, and spoke with the Asian grackle, who said "Ni Hao."
We did some last minute shopping, then listened to Josh's talk and saw a live demonstration of the ancient practice of cormorant fishing.
Our closing ceremony was a heartfelt celebration of a first-rate China experience.
Catch up on all the China adventures!
