After School Minicourses

It's time to sign up for After School minicourses for the winter term. Minicourses give children a chance to try something new in a fun and relaxed setting. Students can participate in a minicourse even if they are not enrolled in the After School Program.

Courses offered this term include perennial favorites such as "Baking with Kathy", "Yoga" and "Little Scientists" as well as new offerings such as:

  • "Club Invention" for Grades 3-6. Students take on the role of architect, engineer and inventor as they design and build a small model town.
  • "Digital Design" for Grades 3-6. Participants will apply the basics of 2D design techniques to create 2D and 3D STEAM products such as engraved keychains and jewelry boxes.
  • "Foote Math Exploratory Program" for Grades 3-5. Designed by Math Specialist Heather Zetterberg and taught by Yale School of Management students, the course will present explorations geared toward fostering a love of mathematical thinking.
  • "Songwriting" for Grades 4-9, taught by Molly Venter of the Americana bands Red Molly and Goodnight Moonshine. Learn to craft ideas and emotions into creative songs. Playing an instrument is encouraged but not required.
