Welcoming New Members of Foote's Leadership Team

Welcoming New Members of Foote's Leadership Team

This school year we are excited to announce the addition of three new members to Foote's Leadership Team.

Elliot Dickson, Head of Middle School

Elliot Dickson

As we announced earlier this year, Elliot will be the next Head of Middle School. As Foote's One Program Co-Coordinator and Middle School Science Teacher/Department Chair, Elliot has demonstrated integrity, creativity, and a clear vision for supporting both students and colleagues. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Visual Arts from Bowdoin College and a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is also certified in Montessori pedagogy and adolescent development for grades 7–12 by the Association Montessori Internationale. Elliot brings more than two decades of experience in middle and upper school education, with particular strengths in interdisciplinary curriculum design, teacher mentorship, and student wellness. His leadership roles at Greenspring Montessori, The Spence School, and Westminster School reflect a long-standing commitment to inquiry-based learning, equity, and community-building. In addition to his classroom work, Elliot has played a key role in institutional initiatives, including schedule design, hiring, and the development of professional learning communities.

Amy Sudmyer ’89, Director of Enrollment Management

Amy Sudmyer

A proud Foote alumna, past parent, and current parent, Amy brings an invaluable perspective and a heartfelt connection to our school. Her professional background includes over 15 years in independent school advancement, and her roots in education and admissions run deep. She previously served as Director of Admissions, Financial Aid, and Marketing at Cold Spring School and began her career as a classroom teacher at several schools, including Elm City College Prep and The Fessenden School. Amy holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Computer Science with honors from Trinity College and an Ed.M. in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy from Harvard University. We are thrilled to welcome her into this new leadership role and are confident she will bring both strategic insight and genuine warmth to her work with prospective and current families.

Caitlin Terry, Director of Development

Caitlin Terry

With more than two decades of experience in fundraising and communications, Caitlin is deeply committed to advancing educational access and supporting students, families, and communities. She has led development efforts at a number of mission-driven institutions, including Robert Louis Stevenson School, Hunter College High School Alumni Association, and Bank Street College of Education. Her areas of expertise include major gifts, annual giving, alumni engagement, event planning, and strategic communications. Caitlin holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and brings a passionate, thoughtful approach to every aspect of her work. She is excited to join the Foote community and to help deepen our culture of philanthropy and partnership.

We are incredibly excited to welcome both Amy and Caitlin to Foote’s Leadership Team. Each brings a wealth of experience, a strong sense of purpose, and a deep commitment to community. Their leadership will be instrumental as we continue to grow and strengthen the Foote experience for students and families.
