China Day 13: Full Circle

We started our day with a tearful and heartfelt farewell to our Yali family. Especially touching was the beautiful video created by teachers Chloe and Joy. There were many hugs and our ninth graders were reluctant to leave their hosts. 

Before departing Changsha, we went to visit another new school, Cogdel Cranleigh School, a K–12 international boarding school, started in 2020. We spent the morning touring their state-of-the-art facilities and engaging in fun activities, namely trying out some of the choreography for their upcoming production of The Wiz. 

After lunch on campus, we said goodbye to the rest of our Yali family as they brought us to the airport to return to Beijing. Our arrival at China's capitol felt like a mini-homecoming as we were greeted again by Wei Fang and treated to another delicious meal. We ended the evening with two presentations by Ari and Esther, and exchanged gifts of appreciation with one another.

Tomorrow is our final day in China, and while we are excited to see our loved ones again, it will be hard to leave.
