The Board is seeking to fill upcoming vacancies; new terms will begin on July 1, 2010. To expand the Foote School community’s participation in the important task of identifying potential Board members, I encourage you to nominate for service on the Foote School Board of Directors individuals – alumni/ae, friends of the school, parents, and grandparents – who are eager to contribute to the school through Board membership and who reflect Foote’s commitment to a diverse community that values participation and engagement.

Please click here to learn more about the duties and expectations of board members, as well as to download a link to a short nomination form. Nominations are due by Wed., Jan. 27. Self-nominations are welcome.

COMMUNITY SERVICE NOTES

Mountain of Warmth continues through Jan. 29, 2010. Please bring any donations of coats, scarves, gloves, hats, etc. to the box in the Front Office. Adult clothing is the primary need, but children's items would also be greatly appreciated.

Knit with Community Service – parents and teachers are most welcome to help students knit scarves for Columbus House. Ways you can help: donate yarn, donate knitting needles, help teach students to knit, or come knit with us. Dates: Thursdays on Jan. 14, 21, and 28 from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. in the art room.

A big thank you to Foote parent Julia Bogardus, owner of Knit at 26 Whitney Ave. in New Haven, who donated both yarn from her shop and knitting needles for the projects.
