Cabaret Star Anne Tofflemire promises to dazzle all at her performance at “Starry Starry Night, A Parents’ Night Out.” Anne, a Foote mother and acclaimed entertainer, will headline the April 25 event at Foote, which will also feature a silent auction. Silent auction items are needed – anything from frequent flyer miles and time at vacation homes to donations from area businesses. Click here for more ideas. Items can be left in the “Silent Auction” box in the main office. Gift certificates and small valuables can be dropped off in the Business Office to be put in the safe. Auction donation forms and letters with instructions can be picked up from the PTC bulletin board in the main office or online. Just click the links. If you have questions, please contact Christin Sandweiss at 288-9722. To keep it all in the Foote family, catering will be provided by businesses run by Foote parents. Caterer Wendy Sadik has devised a creative menu of hearty and beautifully presented hors’d’oeuvres. Bread and Chocolate owners Jaime Zapata and Alejandra Quintero will delight the bread lovers, sweet tooths, and fruit fans with their platters. JACQUES PEPIN LENDS A HAND TO Celebrity Chef and cookbook author Jacques Pepin has written a wonderful introduction for the upcoming Foote cookbook. He writes, among other things, that one’s favorite foods are often associated with the people they are shared with. The cookbook is slated to be published by May Day. A big thanks to all contributors – celebrities in their own kitchens! At the January 29 meeting of the Multicultural Affairs Committee, several topics were discussed: a meeting of parents of color, recruitment of faculty of color, a multicultural potluck dinner, ESL and cultural training, a diversity survey of the Foote community. The group decided to start by planning a potluck for kindergarten parents at our next meeting: Monday, February 25 at 7:00 pm in the Perrine Library. A grandmother has volunteered to take care of children during the meeting to make it possible for parents to attend. All parents and faculty are welcome to be a part of this committee. Please consider coming on February 25 or at another time.
