Timetable for Applying for Financial Aid
New and Returning Students
NEW STUDENTS
Most of the financial aid for a given grade is initially awarded in kindergarten;
therefore, new financial aid for later grades is limited. If a child’s parents reside in separate households, Foote requires each parent to complete the financial aid forms. Each parent has been sent the application booklet and should complete it for his/her household only.
January 2007
• Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) is mailed to parents of applicants who have
indicated they intend to apply for financial aid.
February 15
• PFS should be completed. It is best to send the form in on time even if you have to
estimate some of the income information. Please answer ALL questions on this form;
leaving any blanks will delay the processing of your application.
Fraudulent information will result in loss of financial aid.
Be sure to keep a copy of the form for your records. Your may choose to use the PFS form
you received from Foote or complete the PFS onlne.
– By mail: Use the envelope in the Foote-supplied packet to mail to the School and
Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) in the envelope is provided in the packet.
– To Use PFS Online: Go to SSS Online
• Tax forms should be sent to Foote (Attention: Donna Batsford).
Along with your 2007 IRS 1040 Form you must include all supplementary schedules
that were filed and a copy of any W-2 or 1099 forms.
If your child filed an income tax form, also include a copy of that form and schedules
and W-2 or 1099 forms.
• If you were sent a Business/Farm Statement, it should be returned to Foote,
Attention: Donna Batsford.
February 15 – March 10
• The Financial Aid Committee meets throughout this time.
| Note: The information provided to the school by the SSS will be used in conjunction with your tax forms and any written explanations you have provided. Our Financial Aid Committee makes the final determination of grants based on comparative need as well as demonstrated need. This process is completely confidential. Your financial information will be available only to the four members of the Financial Aid Committee – Dary Dunham, Jay Cox, Laura Altshul, and Donna Batsford. The Committee cannot make an award unless all the information requested is available. |
March 10
• Financial aid decision letters are mailed to families of newly accepted students.
The Committee works very hard to make equitable and sufficient awards to help as
many families as possible.
After March 10
• Financial aid decision letters will be sent out with admissions acceptances.
