Foote teachers instill a joy of learning by encouraging questions that lead students on an exciting journey of discovery. Teachers value each child’s input, thoughts, ideas and experiences. Two-thirds of our faculty members hold advanced degrees and almost half have been at Foote for more than 10 years.

Why I Teach

Andrew Zielinski: Science, Naturally

Andrew’s science students are often seen exploring the Sacred Woods, making deeper connections with our campus’ ecosystem through physical interaction. Sometimes his classes will meet outside simply to enjoy their lesson in a natural setting.

Wenyan Witkowsky: Fostering Global Citizenship

For Chinese teacher Wenyan Witkowsky, language is the key to cultural connections. Since joining The Foote School in 2014, she has built a robust 2–9 program that each year takes a fresh approach to teaching the Chinese language while opening doors for her students to become productive citizens of the world.
