ABOUT CAROL MAOZ

Carol Maoz began her duties as Foote's eighth Head of School on July 1, 2009.
(At right, she is visiting with young alums who were working in Foote's Summer Program.) She came to Foote School from Greenwich Country Day School, where she served as Upper School Head for 11 years. At Greenwich Country Day, Carol was known for hiring, mentoring and developing an extraordinary faculty, for curriculum enhancement, and for successful integration of technology in support of program.

During her tenure as division head, Carol remained directly connected to the classroom by team-teaching Algebra and continued to serve as a student advisor. She was effective in promoting inclusiveness through a well-established Diversity Awareness and Leadership Program and in revitalizing parent communications, in part through her Open Door policy and practice.

Carol holds a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a MEd in Administration and Strategic Planning from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. From 1993 to 1997 she was Junior School Principal at the Munich International School in Germany. Prior to that she was Middle School Assistant Principal at the American International School in Israel (1986-1993). Remarkably, Carol has taught students in every grade from first through ninth.
